The epidemic in Taiwan is showing a slowdown

The Taiwan Epidemic Command Center announced on the 26th that 78 new local cases of the new coronary pneumonia virus have been added to the country, 2 cases have been imported from abroad, and 13 people have died of the disease.

According to a report by the Central News Agency today, Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center today announced 80 new confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in the country, of which 78 were local cases (39 were positive during or after home quarantine); and 2 cases were imported from abroad. In addition, there were 13 new deaths among the confirmed cases.

The Command Center said that the 78 new local cases today are 36 males and 42 females, ranging in age from under 5 years old to over 80 years old, with onset dates between June 11 and June 25. The distribution of cases is most in New Taipei City with 36 cases, followed by Taipei City with 30 cases, Taoyuan City, Keelung City and Pingtung County with 3 cases each, and Miaoli County, Changhua County and Hsinchu County with 1 case each. Among the 12 cases in counties and cities outside the double northern area, 10 cases are known sources of infection and 2 cases are of unknown association; the related epidemic investigation is ongoing.
