Hong Kong 3 groups apply for 7.1 march today and the police to discuss the results are unknown

The Hong Kong League of Social Democrats, the Tin Shui Wai Link and the Alliance for the Protection of Lantau Island are rumored to have applied to the police on the 25th to hold a July 1 march, “following the tradition” of the FNM, and the applicants met with the police at 11:30 am on the 26th to discuss. The convener of the Alliance for the Protection of Lantau Island, Tse Sai-kit, said that the number of people applying for the march was tentatively set at 10,000, and described the government as “military officials ruling Hong Kong”, asking the government “what are you afraid of”, hoping that the police would grant a notice of no objection, allowing the public to peacefully express their demands.

According to Ming Pao’s earlier report, three groups have applied to the police for the July 1 march, saying that they have undertaken the 17-year tradition of the FSD.

The interim convener of the FSD, Chung Chung Fai, said earlier that he would not apply for the July 1 march. The three groups said that the theme of this year’s July 1 march is “to uphold civil society, resist political suppression and release all political prisoners”.

The police said that the organization has not registered as an association, so it is “impossible to apply for any more activities in the name of the organization”; the organization no longer has a secretariat and cannot organize large-scale activities; it is also impossible to organize under the gathering restriction, so it has no intention to apply for the July 1 march this year.
