Shake Shack’s New CEO Ranks High Among Communist-Linked Trump Blacklisted Companies

National Pulse reported on May 4 that Shouzi Zhou, the new CEO of Jitterbug, has close ties to the Chinese Communist Party, and that while serving as Jitterbug’s CEO, he also serves as chief financial officer of Byte Dance, Jitterbug’s parent company, which has pledged to “promote core socialist values.” Before working for Byte Dance, Zhou Shouzi served as CFO of Xiaomi, a smartphone giant that has been blacklisted by the Trump administration because of its ties to the Communist military.

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun, who was involved in the Communist Party’s overthrow of U.S. technological superiority, also received the “Outstanding Constructor of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” award from the Ministry of Industry and Information in 2019.

The Washington Examiner notes, “Lei Jun remains chairman of Kingsoft Cloud, whose August 2020 API also provides facial recognition technology for identifying Uighurs, and which was blacklisted as a U.S. “national security” threat in January.”
