Iranian media reported earlier that a prisoner swap deal had been reached between Tehran authorities and Washington, but White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain denied the report today.

“There has not been a deal to get the four Americans released, and we are working to get them released.”
Kran’s comments came after Iranian state-run television, citing “informed sources,” reported that the U.S. had agreed to unfreeze $7 billion in Iranian funds and release four Iranians accused of circumventing sanctions in exchange for Iran’s release of four Americans accused of spying.
