Capitol Police Civilly Sued Babbitt’s Parents Sue Capitol Police for Shooting Their Daughter on Jan. 6

The Gateway Pundit reported April 27 that the Babbitt family announced Monday night that they are suing Capitol Police over the Jan. 6 shooting death of their daughter, Babbitt. Terry Robberts, an attorney for the family of Ashli Babbitt, came on the Newsmax television show Monday morning.

Media outlet Just The News reported that the Justice Department announced earlier this month that it would not pursue criminal charges against the anonymous police officer who shot Babbitt, citing insufficient evidence.

Roberts told Just The News, “Babbitt’s family and I, both disappointed with the DOJ’s decision, are strongly disagreeing. We believe the evidence is sufficient to support the criminal charges against the officer. My role in this case is to file a civil lawsuit and defend Babette’s rights in this way.”

The Gateway Pundit noted that this was a case of police manslaughter that was completely ignored by the liberal media, and that Veteran Babbitt was simply a Trump supporter from California who was only 35 years old at the time of his death.

Attorney Roberts said, “The officer clearly saw that Babbitt was unarmed and posed no immediate threat to him, and the police had no legitimate reason to shoot Babbitt. “
