Behind the life you envy is the discipline of an ascetic!
Recently, this phrase has become so popular that several of our friends have forwarded related articles to their friends.
It is true that everyone wants to live a life envied by others, but very few people can achieve the ascetic self-discipline.
But in fact, when self-discipline becomes a habit, when it becomes natural, the ascetic self-discipline in the eyes of others is just your daily lifestyle.

There is a saying that the more disciplined a woman is, the more advanced she lives!
This is not an exaggeration to describe Yan Ge Ling, who was “very hard on herself”.
For 30 years, she sat at a desk for six or seven hours a day, writing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. She also wrote for 34 days without sleep when she first started. At the beginning of her career, she had a record of 34 days without sleep.
In addition to writing, she swims 1,000 meters every other day. In this state of self-discipline, every year or two, Yan Ge Ling’s name would appear on the shelves of best-selling books or on film and television adaptations. Most of them are very classic masterpieces, such as “The Return” and “Fanghua”.
When someone asks her, “How can you write so many books?” Yan Ge Ling’s answer is as simple as her daily life: “I was a soldier, and I have a discipline requirement for myself, and when you know self-discipline, those difficulties are nothing.”
From Yan Ge Ling’s answer, we can understand what self-discipline really is.
Self-discipline is the discipline you set for yourself and nothing more than absolute obedience!
Under this high degree of self-discipline, Yan Ge Ling’s books are as regular as handing in her homework.
From the outside, this kind of self-discipline is very painful, almost torturous, like an ascetic monk, but Yan Ge Ling said she likes this kind of creative state very much, which makes her feel that her life is concentrated, and there is a kind of cohesive spirit.
From Yan Ge Ling, we can see that self-discipline is a kind of enjoyment and an elegant way of life.

The first thing that I want to do is to get rid of the old man’s head, but I don’t want to get rid of it.
The first person I knew who made the first million in his life was a friend, Yue. At the peak, he could make 100,000 yuan a day, and after making money, the whole person became a little floating, a short period of brilliance followed by a long period of abyss, and then he became a negative person for a long time before getting better.

Yue concluded that the reason for failure is a lack of self-discipline!
The lack of self-discipline, after achieving small successes, leads to greed and laziness, and also breeds a lot of cleverness and a desire to take a shortcut.
A highly self-disciplined person does not take any chances with life, nor does he take short-lived self-discipline as a greedy craving for great rewards. They treat self-discipline as a kind of discipline, just like buying meat in the market: I don’t want one or two more, I can’t take one or two less.
In the midst of suffering, people are often able to see the truth of life, and when Yue understood that he should be a constant disciplinarian, his life was slowly put on the right track.
As Yan Ge Ling said, “When you understand self-discipline, all the difficulties are nothing. More importantly, when you become highly disciplined, the risk of failure in life will be reduced.

The first thing I noticed about Xiong Hao was that he looked elegant and humble when he appeared on stage, and his words were very powerful.
Later, Xiong Hao also lived up to his reputation and won the third and fourth seasons. In Xiong Hao’s book, Lu Yu said of him: “His speech and lifestyle, including the round lenses he wears, fit my imagination of a Republican intellectual. His regular, almost stereotypical habits were so different from those of his age that they seemed refreshing. Morning exercise, breakfast, class, lunch, nap, class, dinner, and at 11:00 a.m. it was said that his phone must be turned off and rested, so you couldn’t find him until the sky fell. If you have something to talk to him about in the evening, you can try to ask him out, but he’ll be surprised if he says yes. Because at night, aren’t you sleepy and don’t you sleep? Don’t you have to get up early tomorrow? Why are you so strange? –This is Xiong Hao’s heartfelt monologue.
My little sister, who is a writer-director beside me, has a love-hate relationship with Xiong Hao after working with him for one season. She loved his beauty and talent, but hated his stubbornness and his elderly-like lifestyle.
He has a very high opinion of Xiong Hao and said that he loves his amazing talent.
Through Lu Yu’s words, we can see that we only see excellent people shine and shine in the stage, but behind them there is extreme self-discipline for themselves.

Many times, we say that we should be self-disciplined and work hard, but we always fall into a strange circle of intermittent self-discipline: self-discipline – slackness – giving up – regret – self-discipline, which is difficult for many people to achieve sustainability.
Like Xiong Hao and Yan Geeling, they are diligent and self-disciplined, and do not need extra subsidies, do not need to mobilize their willpower, do not need to tan their friends, do not need to be moved by themselves, and do not need self-persuasion and coercion.
Their self-discipline is a complete cruising state, continuous, steady, no stumbling, natural ……
There is a saying that describes self-discipline: self-discipline is like a satellite, in the early stage of pushing into space, it is bound to have a long, painful or uncertain experience, but once it breaks through the atmosphere, free from the Earth’s gravitational constraints, all that is left is to run in an orderly manner in the established orbit, all of which, without going through the early struggle and tempering, will not experience the leisurely ease.

This passage nicely summarizes the three cycles of self-discipline from undisciplined to highly disciplined: the early part of self-discipline is exciting and the first attempts are full of energy; the middle part of self-discipline is painful and most people give up; and the later part of self-discipline is enjoyable, because by now a good habit has been formed and self-discipline has become an efficient and elegant way of life.
This, I suppose, is the difference between the best and the average person.

There is a saying: To achieve small things you must encourage yourself, to achieve medium things you must introspect, to achieve great things you must discipline yourself!
In our daily lives, we all think about making changes to make ourselves better and more successful, and we make up our minds that we must push ourselves. But very often, we also make a lot of excuses for ourselves, slowly consuming the determination we started with and slowly slacking off, leaving behind only the last remorse.
This is the intermittent enthusiasm that many people have for not succeeding.
The really powerful people, however, tend to hold on a little longer when they are most miserable, and cross this intermittent self-discipline as a graceful perseverance, not deliberate, not forceful, and not self-lax. They are disciplined, demanding, and incorporate self-discipline into their daily lifestyles.

Why are they able to do this? It is the self-discipline and persistence towards the goal that is always the engine of a person.
So, if you are in the workplace, a small person, dissatisfied with the status quo, and from an ordinary family, then continuous self-discipline and diligence is one of the few ways out for you.
One day, when you enjoy the beauty of self-discipline, you will realize that self-discipline is the best achievement for yourself, especially when you are young.
