According to CCTV news quoted by the British Prime Minister’s Office, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has to quarantine himself due to contact with patients who tested positive for the new coronavirus.
In April this year, Boris Johnson had spent three nights in the intensive care unit due to neo-coronavirus infection.
Prime Minister Johnson begins self-segregation again
According to CCTV news citing a local release from the British Prime Minister’s Office on November 15, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has to quarantine himself due to contact with patients who have tested positive for the new coronavirus.
According to the report, Johnson was notified by the NHS’s detection and tracking system that some of his contacts were infected with the new coronavirus.
According to a spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, Johnson will “comply with containment rules and self-quarantine himself at 10 Downing Street” and will continue to work. He added: “The Prime Minister is in good condition and is not showing any symptoms of infection with the new coronavirus.”
Boris Johnson met with several MPs on Thursday morning (12), including Lee Anderson, MP for Ashfield, Nottinghamshire West, England. Anderson subsequently developed symptoms of neo-coronavirus infection and tested positive for the infection.
Johnson had previously been diagnosed with neo-coronavirus and was admitted to hospital on 5 April, but was transferred to the intensive care unit on 6 April after his condition worsened and he recovered after treatment.
The United Kingdom is the ninth country to break one million cases of new coronary pneumonia infections, following the United States, India, Brazil, Russia, France, Spain, Argentina and Colombia. According to statistics from Johns Hopkins University in the United States, as of 09:27 GMT on 16 March, the number of new coronary pneumonia infections in the United Kingdom had reached 1372,884 cases and 52,026 deaths.
On Friday, a new data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed that a higher proportion of secondary school students in the UK are infected with the new coronavirus than any other age group. As of November 6, 1.65% of students in Years 7 to 11 (aged between 12 and 16) had tested positive for the new coronavirus, compared to 1.05% of primary school students.
The UK’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), which has investigated more than 1,000 outbreaks of neocoronavirus since schools reopened in September, found that secondary school students play a “significant role” in spreading the virus to families, but there is no direct evidence that transmission of the virus within schools is driving the rise in infections among young people.
In addition, Friday’s data also showed that between Oct. 31 and Nov. 6, 654,000 people in England (excluding inpatient, nursing home and other health care settings) were infected with the new coronavirus, or about 1.2 percent of the population, up from 618,700 (1.13 percent of the population) the week before. The U.K. Office for National Statistics said that despite the rise in infections, “the rate of increase has been slower than in previous weeks.”
Data released by the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS) on 12 December showed that the UK’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 15.5% in the third quarter after a record contraction in the second quarter, but fell 9.6% year-on-year.
U.S. media say U.S. epidemic reaches catastrophic levels
This week, the cumulative number of new cases of coronary pneumonia worldwide surpassed 50 million, which represents a “grim milestone,” according to Ryan, WHO’s executive director of emergency programmes. More than a fifth of these cases were diagnosed in the United States.
According to Johns Hopkins University statistics, as of 09:27 GMT 16, the United States has reached 1,100,294,470 cases of new coronary pneumonia infections, with 246,129 deaths.
What does it mean that more than 11 million cases have been diagnosed? This means that on average, one in every 30 Americans has been diagnosed with neo-coronavirus.
The U.S. Foreign Policy magazine website on the local time 13, pointed out that the U.S. neo-crown pneumonia epidemic has reached a “catastrophe” level.
The article said that the spread of the new coronavirus in the United States is out of control, if you draw a map of the epidemic in the United States, and the most affected areas are marked in red, 49 of the 50 states in the United States will be marked in red – but in this case, the United States government is still busy with political struggle, indifferent to the control of the epidemic.
On November 15, local time, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, spoke with CNN about the new crown epidemic. Fauci believes that national policies of wearing masks and maintaining safe social distances play a critical role in mitigating the spread of the new crown epidemic.
In response to last week’s spike in infections, Fauci said the importance of wearing masks and maintaining safe social distances is really important and that despite repeated emphasis, many Americans have not yet begun to take it seriously, and that the situation could be reversed if all U.S. citizens wore masks and maintained safe social distances now that the vaccine is ready to be distributed. Dr. Fauci also believes that a national policy needs to be implemented to enforce the wearing of masks, otherwise, the number of deaths from new coronary pneumonia in the United States is expected to reach at least 439,000 by March 1, 2021.
