Back in the political spotlight, Trump to speak at conservative summit

Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at a major conservative rally in Florida next week for his first public address since leaving office on January 20, seeking to return to the political spotlight, sources said.

As Republicans plan for Trump’s “post-White House period” actions, Trump intends to hold a “Conservative Political Action Conference” (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida on the 28th. The last day of the agenda of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, on the 28th, Trump intends to make a speech.

Sources familiar with Trump’s plans told Reuters, “He will talk about the future of the Republican Party, as well as the conservative movement, and will also review President Biden‘s disastrous border policy and (immigration) Amnesty through the eyes of a former president.”

Trump’s four-year U.S. presidency ended shortly after the “Capitol Hill” chaos on Jan. 6. In the months following last November’s election, Trump repeatedly accused of election fraud, and on the day Congress held a joint session to certify Biden’s election last month, Trump was accused of inciting his supporters to riot and was impeached by the federal House of Representatives for the second Time in his term by a vote of 232 to 217.

Although the case was sent to the Senate for trial after leaving office, the Senators voted 57 to 43 not to reach the 2/3 threshold for conviction, but for the House and Senate, a total of 17 Republicans voted against Trump, Trump is deeply angry, and on the 16th of this month, criticized the highest-ranking elected Republican representative in the country, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (McConnell).

Although McConnell voted not guilty to Trump, but afterwards said Trump to take moral responsibility for the chaos on Capitol Hill, so the gap between the two deepened.

But the Republicans are anxious to win back control of Congress in 2022 after losing the White House and losing last month’s two-seat U.S. Senate runoff in Georgia.

AFP reports that a QuinnipiacUniversity poll this week shows that 3/4 of Republicans want Trump to play a major role in the party.

Those scheduled to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference also include a number of possible candidates for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential primary, including Mike Pompeo, who served as secretary of state in the Trump Administration, and Kristi Noem, the current Republican governor of South Dakota.

But two key players from the Trump administration are not on the speech list, former Vice President Mike Pence and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

After Haley recently criticized Trump in an article on the political news network Politico, sources told Reuters that Trump recently rejected Haley’s request for a meeting.
