India made 5G good news, the U.S. support to achieve 1GB high-speed, Indian media: China can’t do it

Jio’s parent company, Reliance Industries India, has said that it will build a 100% “home-grown 5G” network in India, a plan that has recently taken a big step forward with promising results. According to a recent report published by Indian media, jio, India’s largest telecom company, made an official announcement that they have achieved a milestone of 1000MBPS (1GB) network transmission speed in the first round of 5G network testing through deep cooperation with Qualcomm.

The Indian media praised the achievement, saying that only the US, South Korea, Australia, Germany and Switzerland are currently able to provide 1GBPS speeds to 5G users, implying that even China is unable to do so. In addition, the cooperation between the US and India in the field of 5G has also attracted widespread attention in the Western media.

The United States has been sparing no effort to promote the so-called “clean network plan” around the world, claiming to build a set of “no back door, no data leakage” security 5G network, and the object of their cooperation is India. India is using the United States to suppress Huawei’s “east wind”, intending to get a share of the global 5G market.

In fact, since the 5G technology has been showing up, India has been actively looking for opportunities to join in. Especially when the 5G rollout in our country is going well, India will be even more jealous. However, India’s telecom industry is lagging behind the times. It has the reputation of being the world’s largest consumer market for smartphones, but it is lagging behind in 4G and even 3G network rollout.

At this time the United States suddenly came out to India to extend the “olive branch”, hope and India this “trusted partner” to counterattack with China’s 5G. It is the first of its kind. At the same time, a domestically produced 5G is fully in line with Modi’s “Make in India” strategy.

In fact, Modi has long been obsessed with the idea that Indian products can really take on the world and become international brands, regardless of how unrealistic his strategy is. First of all, India doesn’t have any possibility of developing 5G on its own, as its technical reserves in this field are close to zero.

Secondly, the technology India is getting now is provided by the US, and Qualcomm has fewer patents in the 5G field than not only top-ranked Huawei, but even behind Nokia and Ericsson. 5G patent barriers have been formed, the so-called Made in India is essentially “India assembly”.

In addition, as many telecom operators in India have already installed a large number of Huawei equipment, so even if the future does not adopt Huawei’s 5G equipment, just to remove the past 3G and 4G Huawei equipment replaced by other brands, is enough to make these telecom operators cost about 15% higher.

So even Modi, who is the loudest of the populist slogans, has been wavering on whether he wants to reject Huawei and ZTE’s 5G altogether. The trade situation between China and India is currently showing a worsening trend and India is leaving no stone unturned to find every opportunity to crack down on Chinese companies in India and all the imports from China that they can crack down on.

But because of the complete disparity in the volume of trade between the two sides, India’s campaign to boycott Chinese goods is instead bruising itself all over. If they insist on dancing around to America’s rhythm, the end result could be a very ugly situation.
