President Trump won’t invite the Biden’s to the White House before Biden’s inauguration

A Jan. 18 report in Breitbart News reported that President Trump will not invite Biden to be his guest at the White House before the inauguration.

It is customary for a sitting president to invite his successor to be a guest at the White House before the inauguration, and for the current first lady to welcome the future first lady to the White House for tea and a tour. After President Trump defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2016, both President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama invited President Trump to be a guest at the White House prior to the inauguration.

But few expected President Trump to invite Biden to visit the White House, and Trump’s coldness toward Biden is the latest example of the new administration’s difficult transition. But Biden wasn’t angry at Trump’s break with tradition, saying in early January that he was glad President Trump wasn’t attending his presidential inauguration.

When reporters asked him about Trump’s decision not to attend his inauguration, Biden replied, “It’s one of the few things that he and I used to agree on.” “It’s a good thing he’s not coming to the inauguration.”

CNN reported that White House Chief of Staff Timothy Harleth will welcome the Biden family to the White House after the unveiling.

President Trump has decided to leave the White House on Wednesday morning (Jan. 20) before the inauguration and return to his Sea Lake estate in Florida on Air Force One.
