Chinese Communists Don’t Want to Use Force Against Taiwan Canadian Chief of Staff: “The West Must Show Beijing the Price of Force

Canadian Chief of Staff Jonathan Vance recently stated that the West must develop “a grand strategy to counter the expansionism of the Chinese Communist Party and Russia,” and in a rare move, he directly addressed the current situation between the Chinese Communist Party and Taiwan, stating that “the West must have a plan in place to let the Beijing authorities know what the consequences will be if they use force against Taiwan.

According to an interview with the Globe and Mail, Canada’s top military commander, Chief of Staff Vance, said that “the West should begin to prepare for the security of Taiwan and the South China Sea” so that the Chinese Communist Party would not dare to act rashly. Vance also pointed out that Canada should ban huawei from participating in the 5G network. This is the first time Vance has spoken out on the relationship between the Chinese Communist Party and Taiwan, as well as on the issue of banning Huawei.

Vance stressed that “the West needs to develop a plan to ensure that Beijing does not dare to act rashly and does not allow the Chinese Communist Party to violate Taiwan by force. He noted that the most important thing now is how to deal with the world’s changes, what political means, leverage, etc., or which military strategy can work to make the Chinese Communist Party understand the consequences of a forceful invasion of Taiwan.
