I&I Editorial: Democrats moving toward one-party dominance, U.S. may become “Greater California”

The conservative online political magazine Issues & Insights published an editorial on Jan. 7 titled “Democrats Can Turn America into ‘California State,'” in which it said that Democratic control of the White House and Congress would lead to one-party dominance and that the Democratic model of one-party rule in California over the years might be pushed to the entire United States.

A translation of the editorial is excerpted below.

Biden’s campaign issues are about the Chinese Communist virus (Wuhan pneumonia) and “healing the nation,” which is not the concern of the far-left wing that runs the Democratic Party. It has a larger plan to turn the United States into a California-style one-party dictatorship.

In fact, the 2020 election should be a warning to left-wing extremists. After Biden promised voters he would be a “good non-Trump guy,” he has won only narrowly in several states and is often questioned.

Meanwhile, Democrats lost in the House, with the majority down to 10 seats from 36. With the victories of two Georgia senators, Democrats only managed a tie in the Senate, which is now tied 50-50. But with Biden in the White House, Democrats can take control of the Senate, as Vice President He Jinli can break the tie.

Biden has been talking about “healing” the country, which seems similar to the precarious state his party is currently in. Even if he believes in a “cure,” his party does not. Democrats have clearly said that their primary goal is to take control of the White House and Congress again.

We’re not talking about big tax hikes or ObamaCare or anything like that here, which is what they did the last two times they took control of the White House and Congress.

Their declared goal today is to make sure that the Democrats get a permanent majority so that they can eventually implement their far-left agenda. In other words, they want to replicate what the Democrats have already accomplished in California.

This is not a right-wing conspiracy theory; this is the plan that has been announced by the top Democrats or has been approved by the House.

Democrats have promised to increase the number of federal Supreme Court justices, making it a rubber stamp for their expansion and unconstitutionality. They are also openly talking about how to make pro-Democratic Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., two states to increase the Democrats’ advantage in the Senate.

The Democrats are also sure to pass legislation that will make it easier for them to win future elections, legal or not. In fact, the very first bill introduced in the Democratic-controlled House in 2019, the For the People Act, is designed to make it easier to commit election fraud nationwide.

If it becomes law, states would be forced to implement policies such as early voting, automatic voter registration, same-day registration to vote, online voter registration and more. It would also require states to count votes cast by voters not in their designated jurisdictions, as well as votes cast in states with lax voter ID requirements. And it would also impose burdensome restrictions on campaign speeches to discourage Republican candidates to the greatest extent possible.

Californians are witnessing the ill effects of the Democrats’ relentless control of government. After successfully marginalizing Republicans, California has implemented an endless series of tax increases, unfavorable environmental regulations, and exorbitant requirements on businesses.

Californians can at least move to another, less politically authoritarian state, as they have done in droves over the past few years. But if the Democrats succeed in extending California’s policies to the rest of the country, where can Americans escape to?

What can be done to stop this from happening? Biden could resist the far-left wing of the party and try to coalition with the Republicans. Or a few moderate Democratic members of the House and Senate could stand with or become Republicans to resist the socialist tendencies within the Democratic Party.

We hope these things can happen, but we are not overly optimistic. Another possibility is that Biden and his fellow Democrats try to do too much too fast, to the point of alienating voters from the ambitions of the left, and thus the Democrats lose their majority in Congress in the midterm elections.

But by then, it may be too late to repair any of the damage they have done in two years. History has clearly shown that once a Democratic policy becomes law, it can’t be repealed. Can’t you see that ObamaCare is still the law?

In the meantime, the public should do what it can to stop the Democrats’ attempts to turn the United States of America into the United States of California.
