Barricades are seen near the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 9, 2021.
In the immediate aftermath of the U.S. Capitol storming, the leftist media launched an aggressive crusade against Trump and his supporters, with the incident being framed as a “riot” or even a “terrorist attack. However, when left-wing thugs like Antifa and BLM went around vandalizing and even shooting people last year, the media described these acts as “peaceful marches. This double standard has caused great controversy in public opinion.
A few days ago, the Chinese WeChat public number “Viking Woman” published a post titled “When Black Lives Meet Capitol Hill: Talking about the Double Standard of the U.S. Media”, which has attracted the attention of many netizens and hot rumors. The original article is reproduced below to share with overseas readers.
With the encouragement of the Chancellor, American red necks draped in flags climbed Capitol Hill and made a whole big riot:.

Sorry for putting the wrong picture.
The picture is of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) march a few months ago.
According to Axios, the insurance industry had to pay at least one to two billion dollars for the vandalism caused by the Black Lives Matter. The amount of damage not covered by insurance is countless.
While the media claimed the march was “overwhelmingly civil and orderly,” according to various local media outlets (the mainstream media, with the exception of FOX and the Post, largely refrained from mentioning police casualties), at least a thousand police officers were injured during the march, including one retired officer who was shot and killed.
Within months, at least twenty-five people were killed in Black Lives Matter marches in the United States, eleven of whom were direct participants in the marches. The killers were not police officers – all but one of the victims died at the hands of other disorderly citizens.
Objectively speaking, given the temperament of the American police, they have been very restrained in the Black Lives Matter marches.
Back to yesterday’s Capitol Hill unrest. In just one day, four people died, including a retired Air Force female Kawasaki fan who was shot and killed by police. Information on the other three has not yet been disclosed, but they are mostly Trump fans – confirmed.
Again, it was unrest, again, shooting. But it’s interesting to see the angle of reporting in the U.S. mainstream media.
The first victim of the “Capitol Hill Revolution” was Ashli Babbitt, a thirty-five-year-old female Kaweaholic, an Air Force veteran.
Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, was shot and killed by guards at the Capitol.
Before being shot, she was wearing a Trump flag and was about to climb through a window to enter a room. The shooting was very sudden – the police did not do any warning and killed her in one blow (there is a video online for those interested in watching it themselves).
From the video footage, Ashli and her accomplices are not considered “civilized”, but only to make noise and smash some glass, and no weapons in hand, not to die.
On Twitter, Ashli’s name wasn’t even on Twitter. As for the few mainstream media outlets that did cover it, the angle was interesting.
The Washington Post article was headlined “Woman shot to death as Trump gangs sweep Capitol Hill is certified as Air Force veteran”.
Woman shot dead” – Ashli doesn’t even deserve a name in the Washington Post!
Business Insider headlines “Ashli tweeted conspiracy theories before she died
The New York Times headline “Who is Ashli Babbitt, the woman killed on Capitol Hill, a Trump fan or QAnon?
In this grim piece, the New York Times says nothing about Ashli’s shooter, but instead portrays Ashli as a mentally unbalanced loser: “Her military discharge from the Army was a very difficult one.
“She was discharged from the Army with a relatively low rank.”
“Her social media suggests she was increasingly obsessed with conspiracy theories.”
“She was sent on a mission to Iraq & Afghanistan, where her job consisted mostly of guarding base gates.”
Veteran, served in Afghanistan & Iraq, female. In a different scenario, I’m sure the New York Times could blow Ashli out of the water as Wonder Woman.
The same New York Times, after the death of George Floyd (Black Lives Matter), published an article with the following title: “George Floyd, from “I want to feel the world” to “I can’t breathe”.
The article is a tearful account of the struggle of an inspiring young black man. In the article, Floyd is described as kind-hearted, good at sports, loved by his neighbors, and with a heart of gold.
However, the real Floyd was incarcerated for four years and committed at least eight crimes, including home invasion and robbery. Before his death by chokehold, Floyd apparently took drugs, and reports indicate that he had a significant overdose of opioids in his blood.
After Floyd’s death, the police officers who killed him were stripped to the bone, and even the Asian police officers standing on the sidelines were stripped of their ancestral graves.
After Ashli Babbitt’s death, it was as if the police officer who killed her did not own a name, but some media outlets have begun to exonerate him.
The Daily Beast story is headlined “Officer who killed Ashli had ‘no other choice’. The headline is followed by a small summary of Ashli’s life as a “pro-Trump conspiracy theorist.
In a nutshell, the article says that Ashli deserved to die.
The U.S. mainstream media downplayed the four dead on Capitol Hill, and even took a backhanded swipe at them.
The New York Times published an article accusing the police of double standards in the “Black Lives Matter” and “Capitol Hill” incidents.
The article claimed that the police were heavily armed and arrested protesters during the Black Lives Matter. As for the Capitol Hill unrest, the police interacted with the protesters in a cordial and happy manner.
But, this is a lie.
Less than a day into the Capitol Hill unrest, four people have been killed, and at least one has been proven to have died by police gunfire. Black Lives Matter Gui has been whole for months, and a lot of people have died, basically from mob infighting. However, the mainstream media has uniformly passed over the violence in the Black Lives Matter incident, portraying it as a “peaceful” march.
The facts don’t lie. Ashli was unarmed and was decisively shot and killed.
The Black Lives Matter activists looted people’s stores, burned public buildings as firewood, and treated police cars like Lego blocks, but the police did not shoot with live ammunition.
The Declaration of Independence says: “All men are created equal, and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The right of the people to alter or abolish any form of government which shall defeat the ends aforesaid, and to institute a new government.”
The Black Lives Matter activists were praised by the media as a “peace march” when they smashed up the small stores of ordinary people in the pursuit of happiness.
How did it become a riot when the red necks decided to abolish the new government because they thought it was destroying their right to pursue happiness?
Postscript.
The right to define good and evil depends on who has the microphone.
The Capitol Hill “uprising” was just the beginning. Driven by a polarized media, the tear in American society will only increase.
Let the storm come harder.
