U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) came on Fox News Channel Sunday (Jan. 10) to join the Maria Bartiromo talk show. During the show, Rep. Nunes spoke about the crackdown on free speech by major U.S. tech companies Apple, Amazon, Google and Facebook, calling for criminal prosecution of the tech giants’ CEOs.
Congressman Nunez said, “Americans may no longer have free and open social media platforms in the future, and these big tech companies, Apple, Amazon, Google, have destroyed Parler, a billion dollar plus company, in a matter of days, and at the snap of a finger Republicans no longer have a way to communicate with each other. I have 3 million followers on Parler, and after tonight, I won’t be able to communicate with those 3 million people.”
Rep. Nunez continued, “Whether you’re a Republican or a conservative, if you don’t want to be regulated by the leftists on Twitter, Facebook and instant wire platforms, then you’re going to be banned. It’s absurd that they can decide what’s violent and non-violent. I don’t know where the Justice Department or the FBI is right now. These operations clearly violate antitrust laws, civil rights, and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) statute. “
Congressman Nunez called for “an investigation of all those who coordinated the organization of this crackdown on free speech online, and those involved will be criminally prosecuted. I’ve been talking to many of my colleagues, Republicans in the chamber and two senators about these issues, and I think the Supreme Court justices have to step in.”
Rep. Nunez said on the show, “Para is a very safe platform and if there is any violation of the law on Para, the FBI can come in and investigate who did it, and if it’s on Facebook and Twitter that the violation occurred, can the FBI come in and investigate? “
Congressman Nunez ended the program by expressing his concern about the intrusion of the socialist camp into America, “These big tech company’s are not just about making money, they are actually in the trenches with the Democrats, the socialists. The American people’s access to information is in the hands of these big companies controlled by the socialist camp. In addition, the Chinese Communist Party is very close to the big American technology companies, as well as the Democratic Party. It is also very worrisome that China, the greatest threat to American democracy, is rising at a time when we are suppressing free speech within the United States. “
