Shanghai’s power grid hit 33 million kilowatts the night before due to a strong cold snap, breaking the record set during the peak of power consumption this summer.

Premier Li Keqiang held an executive meeting of the State Council today, urging local governments to ensure people’s livelihood by using gas, electricity and coal, and never allow people to cut off their electricity supply.

Shanghai’s maximum power load reached 33.39 million kilowatts at 8:30 p.m., setting a record high.
Li Keqiang, who presided over an executive meeting of the State Council, called for efforts to ensure energy supply, organize gas fields to produce safely at full capacity, and urge coal enterprises to maintain a balance between supply and demand. The meeting stressed that people’s temperature and warmth is not trivial, must ensure the livelihood of gas, electricity and coal, will not allow artificial cut off the supply of electricity, strengthen inspection and inspection, to ensure the safety of the people warm winter.
