There have been sporadic cases of CoviD-19 (CoviD-19) in many places in China, and even local clusters of outbreaks, especially in Hebei Province, where the number of confirmed cases has continued to increase in recent days. Against this backdrop, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has again stressed the need to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
On January 8, Beijing time, Li Keqiang presided over an executive meeting of the State Council of China. The meeting stressed that the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council of China should strengthen guidance and coordination with the local authorities and relevant parties, adhere to the “four early stages”, strengthen emergency response work such as monitoring and early warning, nucleic acid testing, quarantine control, medical treatment, flow and traceability, seek truth from facts, release information openly and transparently, and resolutely contain the spread of the epidemic.
Currently, a new round of Covid-19 outbreak in Hebei, China, is mainly concentrated in Shijiazhuang, among which Gaocheng District is the only high-risk area in China. As of 10:00 am on January 8, 127 cases have been confirmed in Hebei (118 in Shijiazhuang and 9 in Xingtai), and 183 cases (177 in Shijiazhuang and 6 in Xingtai) are still under medical observation.
In addition, the case of “patient 0”, which infected more than 200 people in Gaocheng district of Shijiazhuang City, has still not been found. Hebei’s epidemic prevention and control conference said that the current investigation and tracing work is accelerating, but the source of the virus has not yet been fully identified, and the investigation needs to continue. Suggestions that the Shijiazhuang outbreak was linked to a Catholic mission have also appeared on Chinese networks.
