In a statement, Twitter said it had analyzed President Donald Trump’s recent tweets and concluded that the term “American patriot” also describes people who commit acts of violence on Capitol Hill.
The company also cited the large number of users talking about anti-election content in Trump’s tweet announcing he would not attend the inauguration as a reason for the deletion.
Related claims were condemned by people from all walks of life. One American said, “President Trump is banned by totalitarianism. The Twitter statement is an attempt to claim that the term ‘American patriot’ is bad now.”
The move comes after Facebook and Instagram, along with other big tech platforms, indefinitely suspended President Donald Trump’s access.
