No one was arrested in the Portland riot on the night of the congressional certification “Antifa

A protester’s foot catches fire during a demonstration in Portland, Oregon, Sept. 5, 2020.

On Wednesday (6), Congress certified Biden as president, but the left-wing extremist group Antifa continued to wreak havoc in downtown Portland that night. This was the third riot by the BLM/Antifa group since New Year’s Eve, but no one was arrested.

Andy Ngo, a journalist known for his coverage of street protests in Portland, Oregon, tweeted that the Antifa rioted again in Portland on the night of Jan. 6. They tried to break into the Multnomah County courthouse and smashed a window in the building. After failing to storm the building, they marched around downtown, smashing up businesses one by one. It was the city’s third riot since New Year’s Eve, but police made no arrests.

In the first two riots, demonstrators set fires, vandalized and looted businesses, and clashed with police. Local Oregon media outlet “OregonLive” reported that Portland police again declared a riot and ordered protesters to leave the city after demonstrators began smashing windows of businesses again on Wednesday evening.

The demonstration was reportedly called a “Stop the Fascist Coup,” but it is unclear why the protesters chose to break store windows to further their “cause.

Protesters arrived at the newly built county courthouse at around 9:45 p.m. local time on Wednesday. Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers ordered them to disperse through loudspeakers. However, some in the crowd tried to break into the building, while damaging the security fence installed to protect it. The illegal rally disbanded by 11:30 p.m., and police did not use force. The mainstream media continues to ignore the violence of leftist extremist groups and Democratic politicians have refused to condemn the far-left riots, but they did not hesitate to condemn the events at the Capitol on Wednesday.

Reporter Ngo said the left’s completely different response to the people who broke into the Capitol than those who tried to burn down the federal courthouse in Portland for months tells you what you need to know. Engo also questioned why the months-long violence in downtown Portland was not considered a “rebellion.

In a statement sent to Fox News, Tim Graham, executive editor of the conservative group Media Research Center, also condemned the media’s sudden shift in commentary on the violence, saying. “It’s not hard to see that prominent voices on the left are suddenly finding that lawlessness is inexcusable and that it’s excusable if it advances their agenda.”

Megyn Kelly, a former prominent anchorwoman for U.S. media outlet NBC, also said the hypocrisy of the media, which downplayed the violent BLM riots throughout last summer, is now so outraged to condemn the Capitol riots is obvious.

“The continuing riots on the far left are being ignored by the media and embraced by leftist intellectuals.” Conservative commentator Ryan James Girdusky tweeted.
