The Gateway Pundit reports that U.S. Defense Secretary Austin signed a memo on Friday 9 ordering several “immediate actions” to remove so-called “extremism” from the ranks.
Austin signed the memo after ordering a military-wide “stand-down” to “address white nationalism” and remove “extremists and racists” from the military.
In the memo, Austin outlined a series of actions the DoD will take to rid itself of extremism.
1 Review and update DoD’s definition of extremism.
2 Update the military checklist to include “training military personnel in the identification of potentially extremist organizations and working with other federal agencies to enable veterans to report any potential contact with extremist organizations.”
3 Review and standardize the screening questionnaire to “solicit specific information on current or past extremist behavior.”
4 DOD to commission extremism study.
The Pentagon is reversing a Trump-era policy that banned transgender people from serving in the military, Defense Department officials said last Wednesday. The Pentagon will also issue new rules to expand access to medical care and gender transition surgery for transgender people.
The Gateway Pundit concludes by asking how these actions by Defense Secretary Austin will increase the combat readiness of the U.S. military.
