U.S. media outlet Breitbart News reported Sunday that Rep. Liz Cheney appeared on “Fox News Sunday” and when asked if the Senate would vote to find Trump guilty, Cheney Jr. said, “If I were in the Senate, I would hear testimony. I think that’s the role of the Senate as a jury. I would also point out that the Senate trial is just a snapshot, and a massive criminal investigation is underway. There will be a massive criminal investigation for all of the events that occurred on January 6 and before.”
Rep. Cheney Jr. continued, “People are going to want to know exactly what President Trump was doing at the Time, and they’re going to want to know. For example, while the storming of the Capitol was underway, did Trump send out a tweet calling Vice President Pence a coward? Was the tweet a deliberate attempt to incite violence? There are a lot of questions that have to be answered, and there will be many, many criminal investigations looking at all aspects of the events at the Capitol, and everyone involved in them.”
Liz Cheney added, “We have never seen an attack like this by the president of the United States on another branch of government, and it will never happen again.”
