Hong Kong student Liu Kang, who is wanted by Hong Kong police for allegedly violating the National Security Law of Hong Kong and has been in exile in the United Kingdom, said his bank account was terminated by the Bank of China on December 24, which had about 50 Hong Kong dollars (HKD$47.23).
Liu Kang said this proves that the Hong Kong government and the Chinese government will infringe on the private property of Hong Kong people to suppress dissent. He criticized the Chinese Communist Party for leaving Hong Kong’s private property unprotected and damaging the reputation of Hong Kong as a financial center, and called on the world to sanction the Bank of China, other Chinese banks controlled by the Chinese Communist Party and the Hong Kong government.
He described the Chinese Communist Party’s move as tantamount to calling for international trade sanctions to hasten its demise.
