A recent poll released by the Pew Research Center, a U.S. pollster, showed that the favorability of several developed countries in Europe, the United States and Asia toward China has dropped significantly due to factors such as the new crown epidemic and “war wolf diplomacy. The poll, themed “Chinese people look at the world,” showed that 78 percent of respondents believe China’s international image has improved in recent years, while 9 percent believe it has remained the same and less than 7 percent believe it has declined.
As for the reasons for the improvement in China’s international image, more than 70 percent believe it is due to China’s effective control of the new epidemic. More than 60 percent believe it is related to factors such as China driving the global economy and maintaining good diplomatic relations with most countries.
It is worth noting that when asked about their views on “war wolf diplomacy”, more than 70 percent of people said they were in favor of it, while less than one in ten thought China’s response to “war wolf diplomacy” was too tough.
It is reported that the poll interviewed residents in 16 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi’an and Wuhan, and collected nearly 2,000 valid questionnaires.
