President Donald Trump (Trump) and first lady Melania Trump leave the White House for the president’s private club, Mar-a-Lago, on Dec. 23, 2020. They will spend Christmas and New Year’s Eve there.
President Donald Trump (Trump) and First Lady Melania Trump congratulate the American people on a Merry Christmas through a video! Happy New Year! and express their gratitude to God and to their brave citizens.
“The president and I hope every American has a very Merry Christmas,” the Trumps said in a video released Thursday (Dec. 24). “At Christmas, we thank God for sending his son to bring peace to our souls and joy to the world.”
The First Family also thanked the American citizens who showed courage in (overcoming) the outbreak of the CCP virus (Wuhan virus, New Coronavirus), including teachers, students, law enforcement officers, military personnel and others.
They said, “As we all know, this Christmas is different from previous years. We are fighting a global epidemic that affects us all.
The president said the rapid availability of large doses of the Chinese Communist virus vaccine was a “Christmas miracle.
We are delivering millions of doses of a safe and effective vaccine that will soon end this terrible epidemic and save millions of lives,” he said. We thank all the scientists, researchers, manufacturing workers and military personnel who have worked tirelessly to make this breakthrough possible.”
Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), announced on Wednesday (Dec. 23) that more than one million people have been vaccinated against the CDC virus.
In a statement, Redfield said, “The United States has achieved an early but important milestone today.”
In a holiday greeting, the First Family concluded, “On behalf of Melania and the entire Trump family, we wish you a Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!”
The president is expected to spend the vacation at Mar-a-Lago, a Palm Beach, Florida estate. His motorcade had also gone to his golf club for a few hours.
However, reporters did not witness Trump going in and out of this golf club.
In past years, President Trump has spent Christmas with military personnel stationed at U.S. bases overseas.
