The fourth wave of the new pneumonia epidemic in Hong Kong is still not under control, said Cheung Chuk-kwan, director of the Infectious Diseases Branch of the Centre for health Protection, at a press conference on the epidemic this afternoon (24), as of 00:00 this morning, 71 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong, including 10 imported cases and 61 local infections, 31 local cases, the source of infection is unknown. The cases involved 33 men and 38 women, aged between 8 and 91 years old, with 10 cases identified through community testing centers. Today there are more than 50 other preliminary confirmed cases.

The Department of Health will issue a notice requiring mandatory testing for people who have stayed in the building for more than 2 hours between December 13 and 24; there are three confirmed cases in Wing Shui House, Lek Yuen Village, Sha Tin, and the Department will send bottles to residents for testing.
At present, the cumulative number of cases in Hong Kong is 8425, including 8424 confirmed cases and 1 suspected case.
