Joe Biden receives a vaccination against the Chinese Communist virus from Tabe Mase at the Christiana Care campus in Newark, Delaware, Dec. 21, 2020.
Joe Biden, who announced to the public that he had been elected president, received the vaccination against the Chinese Communist virus (Wuhan pneumonia) during a live television broadcast on Monday afternoon (Dec. 21).
According to CNBC, Biden said during the vaccination at a Delaware hospital, “There’s nothing to worry about. I’m looking forward to the second dose.”
Earlier today, Biden’s wife, Jill Biden, also received her first dose of the vaccine. Vice presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and her husband, Doug Emhoff, will receive the vaccine next week.
Biden’s vaccinations are being administered by Tabe Masa, head of the health services staff at ChristianaCare Hospital. Meanwhile, officials in the Trump administration are busy vaccinating Americans across the country in hopes of containing the rapidly spreading virus.
In 2020, the Communist virus outbreak covered the entire United States, freezing much of the economic activity and altering the traditional voting process for the presidential election.
Following the vaccination, Biden praised the Trump administration’s work, saying it “deserves credit for jump-starting the vaccination with ‘Operation Extreme Speed.'”
The former vice president also encouraged Americans to cancel non-essential travel plans and wear masks.
Biden said, “We owe so much to these people, the scientists and the people who organized this, the front-line workers, the people who are actually doing the clinical work. It’s amazing.”
Biden received the first dose of the vaccine, made by Pfizer, the first vaccine approved by U.S. regulators. A second vaccine, made by Moderna, also began shipping for distribution across the country late last week. Both vaccines require two injections several weeks apart.
Public health officials say they aim to vaccinate as many as 20 million people in the remaining weeks of 2020. But they warn that most people may have to wait several months before they can get vaccinated.
As one of the first Americans to be vaccinated, Biden acknowledged that it will be a long time before everyone is vaccinated.
Moderna’s vaccine will also be on its way, but it’s going to take time,” Biden said. It’s going to take time, and in the meantime – and I don’t want to sound snarky here – but I want people to listen to all the experts.”
Other senior administration officials have also publicly administered vaccinations in recent days, including Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California.
President Trump was hospitalized in October for a Communist virus infection and has not yet been vaccinated.
Health Secretary Jerome Adams explained Sunday (Dec. 20) that Trump had not been vaccinated because of his recent treatment with monoclonal antibodies.
That’s actually a possibility,” Adams said on the CBS News program. We want to tell people: maybe in your case you should postpone the vaccination and go talk to your health provider to find out the right time to get it.”
