Mayor Ryde alert: MQ mall has patients arriving! Thousands of people are afraid of being affected, the Internet exploded: packed with people that day, no masks

News Corp Australia reports that Macquarie Centre, one of the largest shopping centers in all of Sydney, also made it onto the NSW Department of health‘s list of outbreak sites this afternoon.

Previously, the Department of Health has informed that there have been five confirmed cases in the CBD. Many people are worried that the outbreak has spread from North Beach to all over Sydney.

In its notification, the NSW Department of Health said that any people who had patronized the Macquarie Centre between 11pm and 1pm on December 13 should be tested for the virus and self-quarantined immediately and await further notification from the Department.

News Corp Australia reported that the Department of Health usually clearly lists the affected floors and even stores in its notices, but today’s notice did not specify the affected areas.

Given that there are hundreds of stores in the Macquarie Centre, this could mean that thousands of staff and consumers will need to be tested for the virus and self-quarantine immediately.

Ryde Mayor Jerome Laxale also retweeted the NSW Department of Health’s notice on Facebook and urged affected people to get tested as soon as possible.

Many users have commented on the official Twitter feed of the NSW Department of Health, expressing their concerns or doubts. One user said, “Do we need to be quarantined for 14 days or can we be released after receiving a negative result? That’s a very large shopping center, can we narrow it down a bit?”

“I remember the day the Macquarie Centre was packed with people not wearing masks.”

“Which stores at Macquarie Centre were affected?”

“Macquarie Centre is so big …… can you specify which stores?”

“It’s all over Macquarie Centre, so it’s definitely not just North Beach.”
