On Wednesday, the U.S. Senate Homeland Security Committee held its first hearing into the 2020 election investigation to examine election irregularities. With a number of witnesses testifying by remote video on the issue, The chairman of the Homeland Security Committee, Ron Johnson, said the hearing would help probe the election further, and he said election-related issues must be addressed.
Senator Johnson said that his time as the chairman of the homeland security committee with only a month, but at the end of a month, he started the investigation, to fulfill the obligations as the chairman of the committee, “we must continue survey of electoral system, voters have to re-establish confidence in the voting system.”
He said the convening of an election hearing committee should be supported by members of Congress from both parties. “My view is that we need to address the questionable aspects of the election and increase public awareness and transparency about the election,” he said.
Johnson said there are three broad categories of voting irregularities that are common today: first, violations of voting laws or failure to enforce them; Ballot stuffing or fraudulent ballot papers; Third, machines and software could be manipulated or the results altered. “There are a number of electoral anomalies that warrant well-founded concerns and that need to be taken seriously,” he said.
At the meeting, one of the witnesses, Kenneth W. Starr, a former circuit court judge, said on the wire that the mail-ballot policy for the 2020 presidential election had created too many problems that should be addressed.
He pointed to a clear violation of election law in Pennsylvania, where the state’s changes to the law before the Nov. 3 election were illegal and would not be illegal over time. “I think it’s time to pause and reflect on how we can better secure the bedrock of this country,” he said.
Jessie R.Innall, a partner at Harvey&Binnall (PLLC) and a lawyer for The Trump team, said the campaign had been inundated with calls from witnesses giving evidence. By comparing actual voter lists and other information, trump’s team found that more than 42,000 people voted more than twice in Nevada. The authorities filed a lawsuit in The state, but it was rejected by a district judge.
Representative Francis X. Ryan of Pennsylvania testified that his state’s mail-ballot system was riddled with problems this year, with voters treated differently in different areas and the potential for election crimes.
Ryan also noted that in the data files received on November 4, the Pennsylvania Open Data Site reported more than 3.1 million mail-order ballots. But on November 2nd the information provided was that only 2.7m mail-in ballots had been provided, and that “a difference of 400,000 votes has not yet been explained”.
Christopher Krebs, who was fired as CISA director of the Department of Homeland Security by the Trump administration, also spoke in court, saying allegations of election fraud are baseless.
Senator Johnson told Fox News On December 9, “The only way to resolve doubts is to have a fully transparent election and raise public awareness. That will be the goal of the hearing.”
“This is not just about this election. It has to do with future elections, “Johnson said. The point of the hearings, he said, was to reduce doubts about the election.
‘Right now, the mainstream media is very much preventing people from getting real information,’ Mr. Johnson said.
“We are now finding that the mainstream media has had a very big influence and interference in our elections, more than any interference from Russia… According to the McLaughlin poll, 36% of Biden supporters have never heard the story of the Hunter Biden hard Drive scandal because of censorship and repression. Once found, 13 percent said they would not vote for Biden. That would leave Mr Biden with 4.6% of the total. Means Trump will win. And that is the enormous influence that social media and the liberal media have had in this election.”
