A winter storm is expected to dump up to two feet of snow in the Northeast

This week, all eyes are on a northeast Pacific wind that’s threatening to become a major storm. Epic amounts of snow, blizzards and ice are expected along the route from the mid-Atlantic to New England.

Fox News is predicting that the winter storm system across the plains will bring snow to parts of Oklahoma and Texas. People in some areas will find it difficult to travel, according to the winter weather warning already issued.

Meanwhile, a depression in the same area will move from the southeast coast and merge with the previous storm system to form a “north easterly” from Wednesday to Thursday. By then, a cold front will have begun over North Carolina and Virginia, with the potential for freezing rain and ice, causing major problems for roads, trees and power lines.

The east of the I-95 corridor is expected to see snow later Wednesday, but the amount is hard to predict. New York City, for example, happens to be on that rain/snow line, and if it gets more rain, it will get less snow.

The storm is forecast to fall the most snow in western Maryland and south-central Pennsylvania, where as much as two feet of snow could fall, making travel risky and potentially leading to power outages. Therefore, remind everyone to pay close attention to the local forecast, understand the latest information.

The weather situation in the Pacific Northwest will remain unsettled, bringing rain to coastal areas and snow to mountainous areas as two more systems move in.
