Wugang, Hunan, cancer elderly people dig their own graves and so die in the mainland hot search

A man in his 80s in Wugang, Hunan province, died of cancer after digging a hole for himself.

On December 12, a man in his 80s who lived alone in Wugang, Hunan province, was suffering from cancer. In order not to harm his children, he had himself dug a hole and waited for his death. The video immediately became a trending topic on Weibo, with mainland Chinese netizens angrily denouncing the Communist Party’s pension system, health care and corruption among government officials.

A 79-year-old man in a village in The town of Dengjiapu in Wugang, Hunan province, suffered from lymph cancer and was in great pain without his children, local media reported. In order not to harm the children, and afraid of no one after death, to find an excuse for people to dig a pit, and let people put a relatively large jar in the pit, and he prepared a number of burial clothes, drilled into the jar inside waiting to die.

The old man was reported to be near death and had cut his wrist when he was rescued.

A video posted by netizens shows the pit was dug in the middle of nowhere and later discovered by villagers. The villagers tried to rescue the old man, but he struggled and refused to come out. The old man’s left hand bled a lot. After being carried out by several men, the old man lay on the ground weakly, with many blood stains on his body and legs.
