On January 22, 2020, researchers from Emory University in the United States published in Nature a research paper titled Robust and Persistent Reactivation of SIV and HIV by N-803 and Depletion of CD8+ Cells [6].
HIV can “lurk” in human cells with little transcription and therefore cannot be detected by the body’s immune system. By “shock and kill,” the team used drugs to activate these latent HIV transcriptions, allowing the immune system to better recognize and clear THE virus.
