Chen Xiaojiang, deputy head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), has been replaced as the head of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. It is the first time in its 66-year history that the committee has been headed by a Han Chinese. Some scholars argue that the Communist Party’s claims of ethnic autonomy and “unification” have been declared lies.

The communist Party of China (CPC) announced On its official website Thursday that 65-year-old Bateer, an ethnic Mongolian, will no longer hold his post as head of the CPC Leading Party Committee. Chen Xiaojiang, 58, will replace him as deputy head of the CPC Central Committee for Discipline Inspection.

It is the first time in 66 years that the HEAD of the COMMISSION has been an Ethnic Han since it was renamed from the CPC Central Committee in 1954.

Oghonos Chogtu, a Japanese-Mongolian cultural anthropologist, wrote on his Twitter account that all the chairmen of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission have been non-Han Chinese who listen to the Chinese (Communist) government. Now the last show – off is over. The Chinese government has now appointed a Han Chinese to replace him. The so-called national autonomy and ‘unity’ have been declared lies.”

Haiying Yang was born in Inner Mongolia, China, and is currently a professor at Shizuoka University in Japan. In July and August, Yang protested online against the communist Party’s decision to phase out classes in Mongolian and primary and secondary schools in Tongliao, a city in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and organized a joint petition.
