Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney, in a December 1 telephone interview with WVU-TV, called on President Trump to do what Lincoln did, invoke the Counterinsurgency Act, and make mass arrests of traitors under military authority.

He also said Trump must declare a state of emergency by executive order of September 12, 2018. The executive order states that the president would declare a state of emergency “if a foreign power interferes in a U.S. election.”

Meanwhile, On December 10, Trump renewed the Executive Order on the Succession of the Post of Secretary of Defense, which triggered speculation and concern.

Separately, John Ratcliffe, director of national intelligence, is expected to deliver an assessment of foreign interference in the presidential election this week. On Saturday, he rode with Trump on Marine One to a football game at West Point. “Traveling with President Trump to watch today’s Army and Navy game in honor of the U.S. Armed Forces,” Ratcliffe tweeted.

“All executive branches and agencies of the Federal government shall be closed on Thursday, December 24, 2020, the day before Christmas, and their employees shall be excused from work,” Trump said in the executive order.

However, the executive order specifically states: “The heads of executive departments and agencies may decide that certain or parts of their organization’s offices and facilities must remain open for national security, defense, or other public needs, and that certain employees must report to them by December 24, 2020.”

This means the Christmas holiday has been extended from three to four days. It is another step by Trump to restore American tradition and respect the religious beliefs of the American people.
