Due to the escalation of the epidemic, Sichuan province has entered a “state of war”. Ironically, a banner at the No. 3 People’s Hospital in Wuhou District of Chengdu, which read “Warmly celebrate”, became the designated nucleic acid testing hospital, triggering a public outcry. “The hospital is going to make a lot of money and make a lot of money,” one netizen mocked.
A number of new cases of wuhan pneumonia (Chinese communist virus) were confirmed in sichuan province on December 7 and 8, according to official sources. Subsequently, the authorities declared a state of war in Sichuan. A new case was confirmed in the province Thursday.
The outbreak in Sichuan is seen as threatening. Nucleic acid tests have been carried out in many districts of Chengdu, but the source of the infection has not yet been determined, raising concerns among the public.
A video of the Third People’s Hospital of Wuhou District in Chengdu, China, hanging a banner celebrating its status as a designated hospital for nucleic acid testing has sparked outrage online.
According to the relevant video, a red banner hanging prominently in front of the outpatient department of The Third People’s Hospital of Wuhou District reads “Warmly celebrate our hospital’s becoming a designated hospital for nucleic acid testing”. This led some netizens to interpret it as a sign that the hospital was finally waiting for a chance to make a fortune.
“The hospital is going to make a lot of money after getting the qualification,” tweeted “Xiucaijiang”. “How can you hold back the overjoyed heart? How can one refrain from raising one’s arms to cheer and banners to celebrate!”
A staff member in the administrative duty room of the hospital told the local media that the hospital passed the quality inspection of the health department and obtained the qualification of nucleic acid test on October 22. The banner had been hung for some time and it was not easy to obtain the qualification.
Not only the hospital, search the Internet and you will find many incidents of “warm celebration” in mainland hospitals.
Moreover, the Communist Party’s health-care system has been criticised, including by state media, for deriding that “China is the only country in the world that buys and sells medical treatment”. Deputies to the National People’s Congress have previously criticized the mainland for spending far less on health care than the international level, with international doctors living off their skills, Domestic doctors selling medicines, and public hospitals like supermarkets, where deans compete for business.
