Michigan Democratic Rep. Cynthia Johnson (D) has been removed from her position on the state House Oversight Committee for sending a video publicly threatening Trump supporters. One of the comments in the video she posted again drew media attention: Biden and Harris (Chinese name He Jinli) “owe it to the city of Detroit.
On Dec. 10, a video posted by Michigan State Rep. Johnson on Facebook three days earlier was hotly circulated on social media. The user who shared the video called her “an online gift that continues to make a difference. She was given that rating because of a line in the video that said, “Biden and Gov. Harris owe the city of Detroit.” Several conservative media outlets reporting on the video have used this quote as the title of their articles.
In the video, Johnson says, “Oh, yes, Biden and Gov. Harris owe the city of Detroit. Oh, yes.”
She then goes on to boast about her “contributions” to the city of Detroit, claiming that she “gave her life for the city of Detroit” and “stood for justice and democracy.
Conservative media outlet Breitbart News reported that Johnson helped Biden “win” Michigan, and that she apparently thinks it’s “time to get some of her investment back.
The city of Detroit is located in Michigan’s most populous county, Wayne, and the number of votes cast in the city was pivotal in the election. And according to the Trump team, Detroit is the worst city in Michigan for cheating.
In the recent election fraud hearings held by the Michigan Legislature, Johnson repeatedly interfered with witnesses and asked a married female witness her “maiden name,” Trump’s lawyers charged, apparently with the intent to intimidate witnesses.
On Dec. 8, she posted a video on Facebook, issuing a “warning” to Trump supporters: “Beware! “Be careful where you walk!” “We’re not messing with you!” She then issued a suspected directive to her supporters: “For the ‘warriors’ among you, you know what to do. Get it done, get ready, and make them pay.”
Because of the video’s alleged physical threats, Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield, a Republican, announced the following day that Johnson was being removed from the state House Oversight Committee and that further disciplinary action would be considered.
In addition, netizens shared a photo of Johnson playing ping-pong with Zhao Jian, the Chinese Communist Party’s consul general in Chicago, and lamented the depth of Chinese Communist infiltration in U.S. politics.
