Samsung’s Tianjin TV Factory Closed in November, the Only One in China

Samsung Electronics’ TV factory in Tianjin, China, will shut down at the end of November. It is Samsung’s only TV production plant in China and employs more than 300 people. The move is aimed at improving the efficiency of global production lines, Samsung said. Samsung has previously shut down several factories in China for cell phones, semiconductors, home appliances and other industries.

According to Yonhap News Agency today, Samsung Electronics’ Tianjin TV factory stopped operations at the end of November.

Samsung Electronics had shut down its smartphone production plant in Tianjin at the end of 2018, and its smartphone production plant in Huizhou, Guangdong Province in 2019, and the last PC production plant in Suzhou in July this year. As a result, Samsung Electronics’ production base in China is limited to the Suzhou Jiapower Plant, Semiconductor Backdoors Plant and Xi’an Semiconductor Plant.
