The infected person in Tianjin is an inbound closed-loop control person, and is currently in isolation at a designated hospital for treatment. According to the official media, this is the first time that a mutant strain of the new coronavirus Omicron has been found in mainland China.
The above statements reported by the Chinese Communist Party are not credible. The Chinese Communist Party usually reports bad news only when it is too serious to hide. If we look at the reaction of many schools around the world, we can see that the situation is not as easy as the “first case” claimed by the CCP official media.

Recently, some universities in China issued notices to adjust the final exams and winter vacation arrangements for the fall semester of 2021-2022 academic year.
Beijing
Peking University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Institute of Materials and other colleges and universities are on early winter break, and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and China Women’s College are clear that students can leave school early and take online exams.
Peking University has issued a notice that students will be on winter break since January 7, 2022.

Renmin University of China clarified that students will be on winter break since January 4 to 9, 2022 for final exams and from January 10, 2022.
Beijing Institute of Materials said that students’ winter vacation starts from January 9, 2022.
And the school calendar shows that the three colleges and universities originally planned to have winter break since January 17, 2022, and the break is about a week earlier than originally planned.
Some colleges and universities clearly end classes early, and students can leave school early and participate in online final exams.
The university also issued a notice on Dec. 11, specifying that the semester’s courses will be completed by Dec. 31, and that undergraduates will leave school by Jan. 3, 2022. online final exams will be held from Jan. 5.
China Women’s College issued a notice stating that offline teaching will be completed from December 13 to 17, 2021, and students will leave campus on December 19, with final exams conducted in both offline and online formats.
Beijing Materials College issued a notice that students can leave school from Dec. 24, 2021, and home online classes will begin on Dec. 27. online final exams will be organized from Jan. 3 to 8, 2022.
Zhejiang
A few days ago, many colleges and universities in Zhejiang adjusted their winter holiday vacation time.
Shaoxing College of Arts and Sciences
The examination and vacation time of this semester is adjusted as follows: the examination will be finished on January 9, 2022, and the winter vacation will be officially started on January 10.
Yuanpei College of Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences
The examination and holiday schedule of this semester will be adjusted as follows: January 1, 2022, New Year’s Day holiday, January 2-8, final examinations, January 9, the official start of the winter holiday.
Zhijiang College of Zhejiang University of Technology
- New Year’s Day holiday is adjusted from the original three-day holiday from January 1 to January 3, 2022, to a one-day holiday on January 1, 2022.
- The final examination schedule of this semester will be adjusted from January 3 to January 14, 2022 to January 2 to January 7, 2022.
- Faculty and staff will work normally on December 18 and 25, 2021 (Saturday) and January 2, 2022 (Sunday).
- Students will be on vacation from January 8, 2022, and will report to school on February 20 (Sunday), with classes officially starting on February 21 (Monday). Faculty and staff will be on vacation from January 9, 2022 and will start work on February 20 (Sunday).
Zhejiang Institute of Technology
The examination and vacation time of this semester will be adjusted as follows: teaching or examination will be conducted normally on January 2-3, 2022; the examination will end on January 8, 2022, and practical training teaching will end on January 9, 2022.
Hubei
Recently, some universities in Hubei have adjusted their winter vacation arrangements.
Three Gorges University
Undergraduates will be on vacation from January 4 to February 24, 2022. 25 to 27 February to report and register; classes will start on February 28.
Students with make-up exams should arrive early to take the exams according to the exam schedule arranged by each college. Clinical internship students will be formulated by the School of Medicine according to the actual situation.
In principle, the vacation date for graduate students is January 4, 2022.
If a graduate student needs to stay in school due to research work, he/she can apply for an extension of stay after the application is submitted by the graduate student and signed by the supervisor and reviewed by the faculty and Graduate School, based on the principle of “no stay unless necessary”. During the period of stay, the supervisor will be responsible for the students.
