Zhang Tao still went to work normally after violently beating up two academicians and causing serious injuries
On June 6, Zhang Tao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aerospace Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. beat two academicians, Wang Jinnian and Wu Meirong (female) of the International Academy of Astronautics, causing serious injuries to them. Wang Jinnian is 55 years old and Wu Meirong is 85 years old.

The 14 minutes and 55 seconds of surveillance video widely circulated online shows that from 6:20 when Wang Jinnian was dragged to the floor to the end of the video, which lasted nearly 8 minutes and 20 seconds, Wang Jinnian was never able to stand up, during which he was stomped, verbally abused and even locked in a chokehold by Zhang Tao.
Zhang Tao allegedly beat Wang Jinnian for more than an hour, resulting in broken ribs and multiple soft tissue injuries all over his body until he fell into a coma, while Wu Meirong was beaten and hospitalized for surgery for a fractured spine.
China Newsweek reported on July 2 that the incident occurred on June 6, nearly one month after the incident, and that both Wang Jinnian and Wu Meirong are still hospitalized, while Zhang Tao himself is at work.
Documents obtained from an insider in the aerospace field show that on the afternoon of June 6, Zhang Tao invited the 85-year-old Wu Meirong to visit his company, and Wu Meirong invited the younger Wang Jinnian to attend in order to get to know Zhang Tao better.
That evening, Zhang Tao invited two academicians to dine at a restaurant, during which Zhang Tao proposed that he would apply for membership in the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) this year, and hoped Wu and Wang would help. China Aerospace Group’s late investigation raises questions
After the fermentation of public opinion on the incident of Zhang Tao beating two academicians, the statement issued by Aerospace Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. on July 3 refuted the previous online rumors about the reasons and actual situation of Zhang Tao’s beating, and made another explanation.
