The first overseas players arrive in Japan A major milestone for the East Olympics

The Australian women’s softball team flew into Tokyo today, becoming the first Olympic team to enter Japan, a major milestone for the Eastern Olympics affected by the 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak.

After completing quarantine at Narita Airport, the Australian women’s softball team players and staff headed directly to Ota, Gunma Prefecture, the host city and training venue.

Wearing masks and team uniforms, they waved to the cameras and took selfies in between filling out forms.

Japan is affected by the epidemic, including Tokyo and many other areas are in emergency situation, recent polls show that most Japanese people want to cancel or postpone the Olympic Games.
