In recent years, the Chongqing Public Security Bureau has continued to be purged, and several directors have fallen in succession.

On June 14, 2020, Deng Cullin, former vice mayor of Chongqing and former party secretary and director of the city’s Public Security Bureau, was investigated.

Deng Cullin is the fourth director of the Chongqing Public Security Bureau to be investigated, following Zhu Mingguo, Wang Lijun and He Ting.

Since the Wang Lijun incident, the Chongqing Public Security Bureau has been subject to several rounds of purges. Recently, the Chongqing Public Security Bureau has been undergoing a major personnel reshuffle, with many officials being adjusted.

On January 4, 2021, Deng Cullin was doubly fired.
