Vaccine tourism business opportunity! Vietnam travel agency promotes “vaccination to the United States”

As early as before the outbreak, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand and other places, many countries are popular medical tourism, and now due to the impact of the epidemic, there is a quick brain to launch the “vaccine tourism”. A travel agency in Vietnam specializes in creating travel packages for high-income, or travelers who happen to be planning to go to the United States, to get vaccinated in the U.S. The trip costs VND170 million (about NTD196,000).

According to VnExpress, the Hong Ngoc Ha travel agency in Ho Chi Minh City is preparing to launch an 8-day, 7-night itinerary for travelers to fly from Ho Chi Minh City to New York, Los Angeles and other cities in the U.S. It is reported that certain states in the U.S. are open for vaccination. The trip includes a stay in a three-star hotel, a dose of Jiao Sheng vaccine, and a Wuhan pneumonia test and quarantine when returning home, plus room and board and round-trip airfare, estimated to cost a total of VND170 million per person.

According to the report, Le Van Tri, head of the media department of the Red Nguyen River, explained that the reason for choosing the Jiao Sheng vaccine was that the more protective Pfizer or Moderna vaccines require two doses and a 21-day gap between them, making them less suitable for travel with the vaccine.

Other travel agencies “Fiditour”, also located in Ho Chi Minh City, have also smelled this business opportunity and expressed their intention to launch a travel program to the United States for vaccination, and are expected to announce detailed information only at the end of May. The travel agency said that the detailed planning is still under consideration.

At the same time, the United States is also to boost tourism, is the introduction of vaccination policy for inbound tourists, other countries such as Thailand, Argentina and Mexico have launched a similar trip.

In response, Vu The Binh, vice president of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said the industry will not be prevented from launching similar trips, but returning travelers need to cooperate with the quarantine, as well as the implementation of the 21-day quarantine, to avoid bringing the epidemic into the country to cause the spread of the local.
