A scattered heart is unhappy. How can you be happy when you are fighting yourself? When we are distracted and unable to work toward achieving our goals, a variety of conditions arise that have taken on various names, such as pain, fear, anger, anxiety, jealousy, etc. All disorders force attention to the wrong direction and no longer function as intended. All disorderly phenomena force the attention to shift in the wrong direction and no longer function as intended.
In today’s world, it is actually very difficult to focus. We are always unconsciously swiping our cell phones, friends, tweets and other kinds of fragmented information distracting our attention. The so-called disorganization may be confusion, or temptation may be irresistible, but in the final analysis, we do not have clear goals, that is, we do not know what we want. When we can’t organize our time and maintain inner order, we are easily distracted by external distractions, and the heart flow and peak experiences that come with focus are a luxury. What can we do?
Strive to maintain inner order.
In order to keep your goals visible, the first thing you should do at work every day is to write down the working arrangement of the day, and focus on one thing every day, it will be easy to find a sense of achievement. Although it’s tiring to concentrate for four to five hours a day, seeing your own progress will give you a sense of accomplishment, or at least a sense of power to control yourself, which will improve the happiness index of your work, and not to let time flow away at will.
Work actually occupies the essence of our daily life, or excellent completion of work is for a better life, then for life? I understand that enjoying life also requires order, or good habits, lying in bed all day or day and night to brush up on dramas, I think that’s not the way life should be.
Every morning when you get up, you can take a hot shower, and then immerse yourself in reading for an hour to find greater possibilities in books, or run, not necessarily more than 10 kilometers, but a simple five kilometers, and then take a shower after sweating to start the day. After work, you can also buy groceries and cook to experience the daily routine of life, or go for a walk to organize your simple thoughts. With such an orderly life, over time, after habits and inner order are established, we can effectively accumulate the things we like to do, and not make waves, and grow with time.
- Separate people and things.
We can talk to each other for dozens of hours, eat hotpot and sing songs together, but the real test of emotional quality is still things, which can be seen from the attitude towards things, the ability to solve complex problems, and the compatibility of ideas.
When you encounter the same problem in real life, no matter if it is a leader or a colleague, everyone’s responsibilities are actually clear. Scrape away. Of course the reality of their work is much different, but the fundamentals still exist.
Since it is to do things, there is a routine and logic of doing things, since it is to be friends, then there are friends of the temperature and the way, the two mixed together, and eventually the relationship can not be talked about, things also do not do well, and that ultimately is not what we want to see.
- We are not professional athletes.
Gradually coming out of the love of marathons, in the past five years, basically one to two marathons per year. It may be to satisfy personal vanity, or to challenge the banality of life, willing to treat the marathon battlefield like a battlefield, and always set off with high spirits. This year, because of the impact of the epidemic and the change of work, my enthusiasm has attenuated, and I have been thinking for a long time that the real difficulty is not the few hours of long-distance running in a marathon, but the perseverance and good running habits that I have accumulated over the years.
Marathon is just a hobby after all, and the goal of running is just to maintain a good physical condition. If I can achieve a good mental state with the basic training of 5 km, why do I have to take on a strong challenge to prove the quality of an athlete that I am not? If you are ambitious and strong enough to enjoy the marathon, it’s not a bad idea, but if you’re worried that it will become a personal show and performance for the sake of external evaluation or competition, then you’re putting the cart before the horse.
As a senior ordinary person, I think it’s better to acknowledge your own ordinary and mediocre nature, and then invest your enthusiasm and energy in the people and things you like, and do what you can to enjoy the process as much as possible, so as to make the fun time of your life worthwhile.
