Cheney Jr. out: House Republican voice vote solidifies Trump’s party position

The Daily Mail reported Wednesday that House Republicans, in a closed-door meeting in the basement of the Capitol, voted to remove Cheney, a vote taken by voice vote, with lawmakers not wanting a recorded vote.

One Republican lawmaker said of the vote that it was in favor of removing Cheney, and it sounded like three-fourths of Republicans shouted yes. It was all over in less than 15 minutes.

And the declaration of war was mutual.

After stepping down Cheney told reporters, “I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that Trump never gets near the Oval Office again. “

Trump celebrated Cheney Jr.’s ouster.

In a statement after the vote, he said, “Cheney Jr. was a painful, terrible person. She was the talk of the Democrats, whether that meant the border, gas lines, inflation or destroying our economy. She is a warmonger whose family has foolishly pushed America into an endless Middle East disaster that has depleted our wealth and depleted our great military in the worst decision in our nation’s history. I look forward to seeing her as a paid contributor to CNN or MSDNC soon!”
