National Pulse reported on May 10 that Helle Thorning-Schmidt, co-chair of the Facebook Oversight Board, chaired an event hosted by the CCP’s Friendship Association with Foreign Countries. The CCP’s Foreign Friendship Association is labeled by the U.S. government as the top agency and “public face” of the CCP’s united front, working to “co-opt and neutralize” people and institutions that oppose the CCP regime.
As one of the four co-chairs of the Facebook Oversight Committee, former Danish Prime Minister Thorning-Schmidt was a featured speaker at the 2017 event “A Healthier Future for Children” hosted by the Chinese Communist Association of Friends with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). The event, held in Beijing, focused on the UN’s Every Woman Every Child program in the Chinese Communist Party. Xie Yuan, vice president of the Friendship Association for Foreign Affairs, also spoke at the event.
The United Front, the Communist Party’s premier influence and propaganda organization, has been given the red light by the U.S. government’s Economic and Security Review Commission. The CCP’s United Front seeks to “co-opt and eliminate sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of the CCP” and to coerce U.S. leaders to “take actions or positions that support the preferred policies of the CCP.
The CCP’s Friendship Association with Foreign Countries, seen as the “public face” of the United Front, self-declares itself as the “arm of the Communist Party. More importantly, the State Department has described the CCP’s Foreign Friendship Association as an attempt to “directly and perniciously influence” U.S. national and local leaders. For nearly a decade before last April, the agency’s presidency was held by the daughter of former Communist Party President Li Xiannian.

The Facebook oversight committee, the vast majority of whose members are left-wing activists with ties to Soros, recently upheld the Facebook platform’s decision to continue banning Mr. Trump, a powerful source of anti-communism.
