School shooting in Idaho, 3 injured, 1 in custody

Authorities say a school shooting today at an eastern Idaho junior high school left two students and a guard injured and a male student in custody.

The Associated Press reported that Jefferson County, Idaho (JeffersonCounty) security officer Steve Anderson said the victims are believed to have non-life-threatening injuries.

Police responded to the school at about 9:15 a.m. local time today and gathered many law enforcement officers at the scene.

Students have been evacuated to neighboring high schools and parents are waiting in line to pick up their children.

The incident occurred in Rigby, a small city located about 145 miles southwest of Yellowstone National Park.

According to the National Center forEducation Statistics, Rigby Middle School, where the shooting occurred, has about 1,500 students in grades 6 to 8.
