In addition, 47 people from Hong Kong’s pan-democratic camp, including Wong Chi-fung, Tai Yiu-ting and Leung Kwok-hung, have been charged with “conspiracy to subvert state power” and have yet to be sentenced. 47 people face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Hong Kong is now under the shadow of the Hong Kong version of the State Security Law, and almost all pan-democrats, including former legislators, have been charged with the crime. Many Hong Kong people have fled Hong Kong, and the United States, Britain, and Canada have announced their asylum policies for Hong Kong people.
Meanwhile, the United States is joining with its allies to strike back against the CCP’s suppression of Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Taiwan, as well as its bullying in the South China Sea. With a growing global anti-communist outcry, the CCP is caught in a global siege and is in an increasingly difficult position.
