Trump: “War mongering fool Cheney” to avoid re-election defeat in 2022 and run for president

The National Archives reported Tuesday, April 27, that Trump, in a statement issued through the Save America PAC, lambasted Rep. Liz Cheney (D-Calif.) for trying to run for president in 2024 despite her poor approval ratings, saying “Cheney is looking for ways to get out of the congressional race” because “according to the polls, she’s not likely to win.”

Polling data shows that Cheney is extremely unpopular among Republican voters, and his approval rating is struggling to reach double digits.

Trump also said, “To save face, Cheney will either have to become another lobbyist or possibly run for president, which would be even more embarrassing for her family. This warmongering fool wants to spend another 19 years in the Middle East and Afghanistan without considering big picture issues like Russia and China!” Cheney has reportedly played a key role in preventing President Trump from withdrawing troops from Afghanistan in 2020.

Earlier this week, Congressman Cheney revealed to the New York Post that he would not rule out a presidential run in 2024, seemingly indicating that Cheney believes she can win the Republican nomination despite her low approval ratings in her home state and nationally.
