Media outlet RealClearPolitics.com, reported on April 26 that embattled New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, as president of the National Governors Association, is leading the White House’s weekly meetings with the nation’s governors s Communist Party virus outbreak conference calls, as both Biden and Kamala Harris have chosen not to attend those meetings, a complete departure from the Trump presidency.
The news was confirmed by Psaki at a White House press briefing on Monday. Psaki explained, “Cuomo is now leading on the conference call as chairman of the National Governors Association, and the vice president is not attending the meetings because changes need to be made.”
One of the reasons, which Psaki revealed in March, was that “the previous administration had operational problems in dealing with the virus, in dealing with vaccine distribution, in dealing with planning and the way they engaged with the governors.”
Gov. Cuomo was heavily criticized for forcing New York State nursing homes to accept patients with the CCP virus in the early months of last year’s outbreak. Since then, the Cuomo administration has been accused of covering up thousands of nursing home deaths. The governor is also facing concurrent allegations of sexual harassment of colleagues. The New York State Assembly is continuing its impeachment investigation of Cuomo, and leading New York State Democrats are calling for Cuomo’s resignation as governor.
Despite this, Biden’s White House continues to allow Cuomo to lead governors across the United States in place of the absent Biden and Harris, Breitbart News said. It’s important to remember that after the November election, Biden and the governors held a conference call in which Biden promised to work closely with the governors once he took office.
