Chinese Californians Urgently Protest Against Leftist Critical Race Theory

On Monday, April 26, Chinese Californians launched an emergency protest rally against the state legislature’s proposal to mandate Communist “Cultural Revolution-style” doctrine in schools and against the indoctrination of students in “critical race theory” (CRT).

On April 26, Chinese Californians launched an emergency protest rally against AB101 and the left’s efforts to teach students “critical race theory” (CRT).

At the rally, people displayed signs that read “Stop Racist AB101, AB101 = Hate Education, Stop Hate Education, Oppose California’s Communist Cultural Revolution”.

On April 26th, Chinese Californians launched an emergency protest rally to oppose AB101 and resist the left’s education of “critical race theory” (CRT) to students.

Many parents who participated in the protest rally argued that “Proposition AB101 and the critical curriculum are extremely harmful, a systematic brainwashing of American children, and a ‘Cultural Revolution-style movement’ that is destroying America, so they must be strongly opposed.”

On March 18, the California Department of Education voted to adopt the nation’s first educational curriculum based on “critical race theory,” known as the Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum (ESMC). AB101, a joint initiative of several California Democratic legislators, aims to make ethnicity courses a required graduation course for all California high school students.

Many California scholars, educational groups, and parents have researched and found that the curriculum contains controversial topics such as “critical race theory, culture of hate, and teaching students about self-classification” as well as “radical sex education, transgenderism, ‘Black Lives Matter’ (BLM), and LGBTQ”.

Kelson Sun, a Chinese parent, believes that the use of skin color to divide people and promote racism is in fact a way to prepare the ground for racial discrimination. Thus, teaching the content of racism curriculum in schools is administering a systemic hate education.

He said, “All people must have a seed of hatred to kill each other. Whether it is divided by race or any other division, it is inciting hatred. Throughout human history, whether in mainland China, Burma or Cambodia, it is clear to see that like kills like as a result of hate education. I don’t believe anyone who upholds what America was founded on should pass such a proposal.”

He added, “If there are any Americans who still don’t know (the evils), I suggest they can go see the Khmer Rouge Memorial and look at the white bones. Imagine why those people went to shoot their own countrymen? It is because there is hatred in their hearts; where does hatred come from? Isn’t it just forced indoctrination? If you don’t agree with that hatred, you can’t graduate, you can’t get a job, and we don’t want to put our children in that situation.”

Mr. Lee, a Chinese parent, said that the tutorial tears America into two classes: the “oppressed” and the “oppressor. According to this theory, white people are classified as the “oppressed” class and other people of color become the “oppressed” class. “We Asians, on the other hand, have become a ‘quasi-oppressed’ class that is ‘white-adjacent,’ which is a blatant hate attack on Asians. “

“And Proposition AB101, which would take this ethnic studies curriculum with critical theory and force it into California’s public schools, where students would have to take these courses in order to graduate. This is a very harmful proposal for California. It would make the youth of California, learn just like the class struggle during the Cultural Revolution on the mainland, creating hatred. It’s very dangerous to create this class and racial hatred among the people and to divide the society.”

As a parent, he said, “We came to the United States to pursue freedom and human rights, to pursue a good life, and we want the next generation to grow up with all kinds of freedom as well, not to be brainwashed like the Red Guards of the Chinese Cultural Revolution style, full of hatred for our society, full of hatred for our friends around us, for our neighbors.”

Currently, schools in many parts of the United States, including New York, have been found to be promoting “critical race theory” to students.

Parents: Critical Race Theory is a rehash of the Cultural Revolution

In early April, AB101 was passed by the California Assembly Education Committee and will be discussed and voted on at a hearing in the state House Appropriations Committee this Wednesday, April 28.

The 26th rally was held in front of the home of State Assemblyman Ed Chau, a Democrat and a member of the California House Appropriations Committee. The crowd urged Chau to vote against AB101.

Clare Chu, a Chinese-American parent whose son is in 9th grade, said, “The abomination of AB101 is that a child should be educated in an enlightened atmosphere in school and not be taught ‘political correctness’ from an early age. The Constitution gives us the right to not be ‘politically correct’. And AB101 is trying to use the law so that all schools can indoctrinate children with the wrong views. I don’t look at people by color or race, there is no need for that, I only look at right and wrong. So this kind of education is robbing our next generation.”

Ms. Chu said, “It’s the same kind of behavior as in mainland China, where one part of the population is drummed up to bring down another part of the population. And it’s proven through those ‘culture of abolition’ campaigns in mainland China that this is undesirable and it’s creating a nationwide catastrophe.”
