A U.S. executive jet left Taiwan Tuesday night.

According to Taiwan’s Central News Agency on November 24, a U.S. executive jet, No. 375, took off from Taipei’s Songshan Airport at about 7:10 p.m. that night. The plane arrived at Songshan Airport last Sunday and stayed for three days.

Reuters previously quoted a source as saying that Michael Studeman, commander of the J2 division of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, which is responsible for intelligence operations, visited Taiwan on November 22. If true, Studeman is one of the highest-ranking U.S. military officials to visit Taiwan in recent years.

So far, neither Taiwan nor the U.S. diplomatic and military authorities have commented on Studeman’s visit to Taiwan.

Taiwan Foreign Ministry spokesman Ou Jiang-an said at a regular press conference Tuesday in response to media inquiries that the U.S. and Taiwan have frequent exchanges and friendly interactions, and Taiwan has always welcomed visits by U.S. officials. But for the above-mentioned case of the takeoff of the U.S. executive jet, based on mutual trust and national interests, Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry does not confirm, does not explain, does not comment, and does not disclose the itinerary.
