The National Archives reported Thursday, April 22, that former pro football (NFL) best running back, film and advertising star O.J. Simpson said he was a little upset with most of the media for showing an edited version of the murder of a black girl.
In 1995, Simpson was charged with two murders in 1994 and later acquitted due to flawed evidence. in September 2007, Simpson was arrested in Las Vegas and sentenced to 33 years in prison for multiple felony counts of armed robbery and kidnapping, and was released in the early morning hours of Oct. 1, 2017.
Simpson commented this week on the shooting death of knife-wielding teenager Bryant and criticized professional basketball player Lebron James. The National Archives reported Wednesday that James threatened the officer who shot him on Twitter, saying, “You’re next,” a posting James later had to delete because of a flood of ridicule and humiliating followers.
Simpson said of James, “It’s a battle that has to be fought, but it takes a little time and a lot more patience before commenting against the viciousness of what the police department has come up with. This time, James should have waited.”
Simpson said, “I’m a little upset with most of the media because the video that they showed us was edited. It gives the impression that it’s another overreacting cop that killed young black Americans.”
Simpson went on to say, “But, from the full video I saw, it appears that the police officer had no choice at the time. We wish he would have drawn his Taser, but in this case, if he had not fired, another young American would have been killed. I can’t blame the police for what they did.”
Video from the porch security camera released Thursday shows that the officer’s shooting was fully justified and in accordance with proper police procedures. Black Lives Matter and left-wing radicals were trying to use Bryant’s death as an excuse for more rioting and looting.
In the video, Bryant can clearly be seen storming into the parking ramp in front of the mansion, getting into a verbal altercation with multiple other women, and then rushing at another woman with a knife while the officers were distracted by one woman’s fall. The officer then shoots, saving the girl in the pink dress.
